Baseball Team Faces Northeastern

Godin Goes for Fourth Win at Soldiers Field

Dolph Samborski's Varsity baseballers take on not only Northeastern this afternoon but also a five-game winning streak which the Huskies have carefully nourished through a series of Class D contests.

The Crimson has not beaten much top-drawer opposition either. The 7-6 win over B.U. a week and a half ago was their last successful outing against a good opponent; they oked out a 4-3 overtime win over Colby and dropped a depressing one-hitter to Holy Cross.

The game starts at 4 o'clock this afternoon at Soldiers Field.

Ira Godin, the only Crimson hurler who has managed to collect three positive decisions for his trouble on the mound, will try again today. Cliff Crosby, who adds power on the offense, is scheduled to start behind the plate.

The rest of the lineup is at full strength, except for the continued absence of Jim Kenary, who is on his feet again after his appendectomy but not yet ready for competition. Lennie Lunder, Chip Gannon, and John Caulfield will be is the outfield, while the regular quartet of Coulsen, Huntington, Mannino (now recovered from his leg injury) and Captain Coppinger will play the infield.
