With a loss and a tie behind them, the Freshman tennis squad notched its first win in three starts yesterday afternoon by toppling Milton, 11 to 4. The Yardlings romped through both singles and doubles, dropping just three matches in one-man play and one in the doubles.
Only three matches went all the way through three sets, as Gordon, Munns, and Campbell slammed out heavy margins in their last game to win. Darkness closed in on the final double match, which was declared a draw and left out of the scoring.
The '51 squad had gone down previously at the hands of the Jayvees. On Monday it tied with Wesleyan.
Williams will invade both Varsity and Freshman courts this afternoon in a series of contests that gives the Varsity a chance to cop its fifth straight victory and the yardlings an opportunity to bring its average above the midway mark.
