Darkness once again killed Freshman hopes for the initial baseball win of the campaign as Warren Berg's forces battled the Boston University underlings to an eight-inning 7 to 7 deadlock yesterday afternoon on the Soldiers Field diamond.
A last-inning rally which netted three runs for the visitors tied the game after the Yardlings, capitalizing on a four-run seventh and a three-run fifth, had taken a 7-4 lead. B.U. picked up two in the third and one in the fourth and seventh frames.
The Yardlings, still in quest of their first victory, journey to Milton Academy this afternoon, while their Junior Varsity counterparts, who have only a tie game with the Freshmen to their credit, entertain the Tufts Jayvees.
