Rain forced postponement of the 1948 opener for Dolph Samborski's intramural baseball leagues yesterday, but representatives of six Houses last night said they have groomed men poised and ready for the inaugurals this afternoon. Adams and Dunster, scheduled to open the season in hardball, looked at the clouds and agreed to play another day.
Meanwhile, Eliot House put a crew on the river, and House golfers took to assorted metropolitan links in preparation for competitions to be held later in the term. Tennis and track are also slated for future intramural action.
Tentative plans call for the organization of a Freshman softball league out of the confused Yardlings wandering on Soldiers Field in the afternoons, but play will not start until later in the month.
