Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
The College will go to polls today for its first election of delegated to the National student Association.
Balloting for five principal delegates and three alternatives will take place at noon and evening meals at House and Union dining halls, and Dudley Hall at lunch only.
The two remaining alternates will be chosen by the Student Council.
Twenty-one Selected
Edric A. Weld, Jr. '46, member of the Council's screening committee, announced that the following 20 students are expected to appear on the ballot today.
Howard J. Aibel '50, Donald L. Bornstein '50, Frederick Deane, Jr. '48, Robert L. Fischelis '50, Robert C. Fisher '51, Charles R. Foster '47, William Gold '49, Alfred M. Goodloe, Jr. '50, George I. Harris '49, Frederic D. Houghteling '50, Edward F. LaCroix '48.
Also John B. Lister '50, W. Jarvis Moody '50, M. Frank Reid '50, Wellington F. Scott III '50 Jonathan Silverstone '49, Theodore H. Turner '50, Charles L. Ward Jr. '50, Peter O. Ways '49, and Paul L. Wright '49.
Weld added that because four candidates had not yet turned in their biographies last night, and because two men had until 8:30 o'clock this morning to file petition, he could not guarantee that all 20 students would appear on the ballot today.
