Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
The Student Council set a record for itself last night, when it lent its preliminary approval to three new College political organizations within the space of an hour.
In addition to charters for groups backing Harold E. Stassen and Dwight D. Eisenhower for President, the constitution of the Harvard National Security Committee also got the nod.
None of the three constitutions will become official until they have been passed on by the Faculty.
With a core of 25 charter members, the Security committee states, "A strong America is necessary to secure a lasting peace and to the preservation of our democratic ideals."
Frederick D. Houghteling '50 and Daniel M. Pierce '43 head the Eisenhower and Stassen groups respectively.
