New Idea Comes To Eli '48; Little Says 'Unoriginal'

Yale thought it had a great idea, original enough to make the wire services last night--until a Harvard man stepped on it.

President Charles Seymour yesterday announced a plan whereby Yale students will take out insurance policies to provide twenty-fifth anniversary gifts for their alma mater. Each participant will procure a 25-year endowment policy on his life, naming the class gift committee as beneficiary.

President Seymour patted the Class of 1948 on the back for being the first electing to adopt the plan. The 1300 members of '48 were proud of their foresight.

Then Secretary of the University David M. Little '18 heard the story. "I'm surprised it took the Elis so long to figure that one out. It's an old story with us here at Harvard," he said.

And the Master of Adams House should know. He was in charge of the Class of 1918's donation.
