Many Returning Lettermen Bolster Initial Practices of Lacrosse Team

Down in the dusty confines of Briggs Cage, the old Indian game of lacrosse is having its annual renaissance. Every night from 7 to 8:30 o'clock Coach Bob Maddux is putting his squad of pre-season stick-wielders through its paces, and if the number of returning lettermen is any indication, lacrosse is due for its best postwar season.

The only nebulous spot in the Crimson lacrosse picture is a shortage of good midfield men. On the attack last year's high scorer Dick Bezanson, former Freshman star Paul Davidson, and letterman Charley Gregg provide a strong scoring punch, while defensemen Rob Snow, Bob Graham, and Bob Forsyth head a strong protective squad. Captain Hans Eatin is, of course, the leading midfield man, with Don Louria, Dave Abbot, and Bob Smith as returning H-men.

Spring Trip Nears

With the spring trip but three weeks off. Coach Maddux is harried by two momentous difficulties, the persistent cold weather which keeps his squad hottied up in the cage, and the drain of other sports on the team.
