Lecturers Praise Wallace, Hit ERP

In a meeting characterized by none of the uproar that attended its anti-UMT rally, the Harvard Committee for Wallace last night heard James Waterman Wise '22 and Paul M. Sweezy '31 vigorously attack the Marshall Plan and support instead Wallace's proposals for world peace.

Wise discussed ERP from a political point of view, saying that the present world crisis was brought about by the war-provoking actions of the Truman administration, particularly the Truman Doctrine, and that the Marshall plan was continuing in this dangerous path.

Sweezy attacked the Administration's European program on economic grounds and strongly advocated the Wallace plan, which he said would offer real reconstruction assistance.
