Advanced agricultural training is now being offered by the Graduate School of Public Administration, University officials revealed recently.
John D. Black, Henry Lee Professor of Economics and director of the new program, explained that "it will provide excellent training for the extension workers and county agents working with the country's farm families."
Launched at first on an experimental basis, the program will new continue for at least three years under a grant from the Carnegie Corporation.
Eight Fellowships have been given this year, and, although they have gone only to men, the University promises that future awards will be given to women as well.
Professor Black has been lecturing on the Economics of Agriculture for many years.
