8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
No official action has yet been taken on strained Harvard-Yale hockey relations resulting from last Wednesday's New Haven fracas, despite a weekend meeting between William J. Bingham '16 and Eli Director of Athletics Robert Kiphuth.
Kiphuth's only statement was a regret "that the thing had happened," but he postponed any decision regarding Moher or future hockey policy until Eli coach Murray Murdoch returns from the N.C.A.A. tourney in Colorado this week.
Asa R. Bushnell, head of the Eastern Intercollegiate League, was also with-holding statement until he confers with the two referees of the game. This may be followed by a conference with Bingham and Kiphuth to revise the entire Ivy League policy for assignment of officials.
Chase Asks Suspension
Crimson Coach John Chase was quoted Saturday as saying that, "if Moher was my player, I would feel he should be barred from ever playing hockey and from future athletics at Yale." After the game, Murdock told Chase, "I'm sure you know what my recommendation will be," in apologizing for Moher's action.
Meanwhile, the Boston press split on the issue, Traveler writer George Carens claiming that Moher had been hit on the head while down so badly that he was unable to wear a hat the following day.
