Strong Princeton Squad Will Test Crimson Matmen

So far this winter the varsity wrestling team enjoys a reputation of winning the close ones--an accomplishment incredibly rare among present-day Crimson teams. Against Princeton in New Jersey today, however, the grapplers' ability to win when the money rides gets its final test.

Both the Tigers and Chief Boston's teams have lost but one match this season, and on paper four bouts rate as tossups. To win or tie Harvard will have to take three of these four.

Louria Has Work Cut Out

Don Louria, at 165 for the Crimson, faces his toughest opponent of the year in a five foot five powerhouse named Freddy Allner who specializes in a heretofore unstoppable variation of the fireman's lift for a takedown. At 175, Bob Claflin has Princeton's captain Mat Atkinson, but their records this season are comparable while at 121 Dave Coombs also has a first-rate opponent.

Dan Ray at 145 and captain Pete Fuller rate as sure decision winners, but Princeton will take 128 by default and the Tigerace Russ Randall rates a good edge over Jim Conant at 155.

One big issue this meet should throw light upon is the Crimson's chances against Yale next Saturday at the Blockhouse. Yale tied the Tigers in New Haven when their middleweights stood up unexpectedly against the Princetons.
