'48 Nine Congregates To Pop of Flash-Bulbs

Candidates for berths on the Varsity baseball squad flashed their potential prowess for cameramen and series yesterday in Briggs Cage at the initial meeting of aspirants for the '48 nine.

Fifty-six hopefuls showed up for the flash-bulb barrage and then knocked and goosed the ball around in the short warm-up session.

Seven lettermen, over 20 veterans of freshman and jayvee seasons, and three batteries which have been working out for two weeks form the nucleus of the 80 man squad according to Coach Dolph Samborski.
