Relying on depth in every position, Coach Moe Berg's freshman quintet nosed out Exeter 58 to 40 yesterday in the Blockhouse. The Crimson stretched a scant one-point margin at half time, to the final lead of 18 points against Exeter's quickly tiring defense. Ed Smith, Harvard left forward and captain, plunked away with his usual accuracy for a high score of 34 points.
