Coach Lloyd Harper will not be on hand when his freshman basketball team takes the Blockhouse floor against Northeastern at 7:15 p.m. tonight, but varsity Coach Bill Barclay will take over for his absent assistant.
Harper's regular scouting duties for the varsity take him to the frozen tundra of upper New Hampshire to watch Dartmouth play Boston College.
Barclay plans to send against the Untried Huskies substantially the same line-up that faced Brown at Providence Saturday. Jim Downey may replace Alden Davis at guard, but the other four starters will probably be the same.
Bill Borah, favorably rated by Harper after the Brown game, has the other guard berth definitely tied down, with Johnny Stevenson set to start at center and Bill Hickey and Jerry Murphy slated for the forward posts.
Team Play
Murphy was high scorer at Providence Saturday, but Coach Harper insists, "I don't care who scores the most points. I have never thought that individual scoring was a fair way to judge a player's value to the team. I would be much happier if all the boys scored five points apiece."
The freshmen will choose a permanent captain for the remainder of the season immediately after tonight's contest. Barclay will announce a game captain shortly before starting time
