Jazz Band Plays Dixieland Music In Lowell Sunday

A Dixieland jazz band will present a free concert in Lowell House Junior Common Room at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow. The group of eight plays in the old Dixieland style, improvising on New Orients and later Chicago standards.

The group plans to have similar concerts during the winter and spring terms if there is enough interests. The band is also making plans to bring jazz names to Harvard for concerts when they are in Boston.

The group is composed of Larry Eanet '52, trombone; Hoagy Dunham '52, bass; Dave Sutherland '50, guitar; Walt Gifford '52, drums; Bruce Elwell, Milton Academy, trumpet; Oliver Taylor, Belmont Hills School, clarinet; and Barbara Leacock, Wellesley, vocalist.

Recently the group played at Boston's Savoy with Bob Wilbur.
