Campaigns for Freshman Smoker positions, already packed with more stunts and gags than any in recent years, yesterday produced a cold-blooded "murder," a baby-kissing spree, a mammoth aerial billboard, and another owl-hunting expedition.

Johnny Morey, a candidate, last night "fell" under a flurry of knife blows front a hidden assassin as he left the dining hall loudly singing his campaign song at 6:31 p.m. Two of his boydguards (see cut at left) quickly riddled the assassin with concealed arms.

"Gong and Grabelsky" yesterday borrowed a large balloon from a local concorn, attached a campaign message, and let it float 400 feet above Widener a little after noon. Today it will fly above Claus Gelotte's camera shop on Massachusetts ave.

Fashionably clad in coonskins and wielding squash racquets and baseball bats, Roger Hunt and Lansing Lamont, the baby-kissers, chased the owl unsuccessfully late Thursday evening.

The week-long Smoker campaign will end Monday night, Elections for posts on the committee will be Tuesday.
