Squash Team Drops Opener By 3-2 Score

A landlubber varsity squash team yesterday dropped its first match of the season to an experienced Union Boat Club outfit by a 3 to 2 count. Coach Jack Barnaby admitted that his boys were "just green" compared to the Club quintet.

Only captain Jim McKittrick and Hugh Foster salvaged the day for the Crimson. McKittrick whitewashed his opponent 3 to 0, while Foster brushed past his man 3 to 1. Three clean sweeps in the other trio of individual matches gave the Club's players, many of whom have been state champions, top honors for the afternoon.

Barnaby stated, however, that his team should win against McGill University when they come down from Montreal Saturday. McGill, traditionally a strong squash school, takes on the Crimson in Hemenway Gymnasium at 10:30 a.m. that morning.
