Soccer Team Wins 3-1 For Only Nassau Solace

As assorted Princeton football teams rolled up a total of 96 points against Harvard opposition, the Varsity accept team lethargically passed its way to a 3 to 1 victory, its sixth of the autumn, against the Tigers last Saturday Nassan.

With half of the team members sabotaged by dining half-inspired dysentery, the booters had trouble keeping up with the Princetons who tried to make up in running what they lacked in ball control. For about half of the game, however, the Crimson played its controlled short passing game as well as it has all season and scored three earned goals. The rest of the game it relaxed into third defensive play.

Tigers Draw First Blood

The Tigers scored first in 4:20 of the first period when the Princeton center-forward Pierce headed a pass beyond the reach of goalie Loring Batchelder. Ten minutes later the Crimson came back to score when Hans Estin tapped the ball in from a scrimmage in front of the Princeton goal.

In the second period, with the wind with them, the Crimson kept the ball almost continually in Princeton territory but could only score once. Charlie Weiss passed to Phil Potter, who deflected the ball into the goal.

In the third quarter, fullbacks Rick Drake and Mike Scully blocked a series of Princeton attacks as the Varsity went on the defense'. When they regained the wind, however, the Crimson scored almost immediately to ice the game. Hans Estin controlled a looping pass from his halfback line and booted in the final goal.
