Red Feather Goal Falls 10% Short

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Official closing of the Red Feather Drive at Harvard and the Boston area Wednesday night saw contributions fall short of the set goals for both areas. Boston contributors poured $6,125,522 or 88.1% of the $6,950,000 goal into the fund while the College achieved $36,000 or 90% of its $40,000 mark. Figures for the Boston area were announced shortly after the close of the drive by campaign manager Powell M. Cabot.

The Harvard total is exclusive of the contribution by the local Combined Charities Drive, the allotment of which has not been made yet. This contribution will make the University average higher than the 89.9% achieved by the colleges and schools in the area.

Although the goal was the highest peacetime mark ever set, officials expressed disappointment at the failure to meet the goal.
