The Big Three of House athletics, Kirkland, Eliot, and Winthrop, kept on top again this fall, according to official Straus Trophy standings released yesterday by Dolph Samborski, Director of intramurals.

Kirkland was tied with Eliot for the football championship, although a post-season playoff gave the football cup to the Deacons. This victory, combined with touch football supremacy, gave them 282 1/2 points, Eliot following 30 points behind in second place. Fall competition took place in three sports: tackle football, touch football, and cross country.

Tackle football, being a major sport in the complicated scoring system, brings 50 points to each House entering a team, 100 points for the winning team, and down the line--85, 70, 60, 50, 40, 35, and 30 points.

Touch football, classified as a minor sport, scores 35 points for entering, and 80, 35, 50, 40, 40, 30, 25, 20, and 15. Finally, cross country, a special sport, has no points for entry, and starting from the bottom, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 etc for as many teams as are entered.

The final fall standings:   Straus points Kirkland  282 1/2 Eliot  252 1/2 Winthrop  216 2/3 Lowell  211 2/3 Leverett  190 Adams  171 2/3 Dunster  160 Dundey  130
