Legal Obstacles May Slow Alumni Poll on Memorial

The push for an all-alumni vote on the University's war memorial may hit a long series of snags.

Two groups favoring a student activities center, the American Veterans Committee and the Alumni Committee for a University War Memorial Activities Center, this week asked that the directors of alumni groups poll their members before making a decision.

However, it will be almost impossible for necessary ballots to go to alumni in either the envelops for election of Overseers of that containing the president's report, it was learned today.

The Board of Overseers have the say on what goes into their mail, and since the March envelope to alumni already contains six weighty enclosures, it is not likely that the Board will break with precedent by allowing a "rider" to go along.
