Thayer Middle chalked up its third straight victory yesterday to take undisputed possession of first place in the Yard intramural touch football's American League. At the same time, Lionel packed up its third in a row to tie Strauss for top spot in the National circuit.
Thayer dropped a tough Hollis sextet, 14-6, in the last quarter on an interception by Jerry Smith, who lateraled to Back Brehm for the crucial score. Emil DeCoen paced Lionel to a 12-0 win over Thayer South.
In other Yard games, Mower edged Wigglesworth 6-0, and Weld South downed Thayer North, 12-0.
