The history and evolution of coniferous trees will be the subject of the 1948-49 John M. Prather lectures, which will be given this year by Dr. Rudolf Florin, Swedish paleobotanist.

The Prather lectureship calls for seven special seminars on the technical able of plant evolution and a final public lecture, scheduled for November 5, at the Institute for Geographical Exploration.
