Heavy vacation snowfall did not smother construction on the now Lamont Library, as laborers plowed through drifts and slush to keep building on schedule.
Although some men had to leave their regular jobs to clear Yard roadways for the trucks, and others shovelled around the building, this did not slow down construction, the University's representative on the building job said.
No floods resulted, and workers poured in 100 cubic yards of concrete on each of the two days of heaviest precipitation, making if possible to keep on time.
The regular preparative work at 6 o'clock continues, with 20 men of the Lamont force of 150 mixing mortar and clearing runways to permit the actual construction to begin at 8 o'clock.
In response to the recent Wigglesworth petition, contractors ordered excess conversation eliminated and worked out several other plans in an effort to diminish all other noise.
