Eleven quintets from Yard dormitories will open a winter basketball league Wednesday, in what will be the Yardlings' first intramural athletic program this term.
Three teams from Thayer, two from Matthews, and one each from Holworthy, Lionel, Mower, Stoughton, Weld, and Wigglesworth will compose the new loop. Dormitory proctors will serve both as coaches and referees.
The league will be divided into two sections, with a playoff at the end of the season. Each team will play twice weekly in the Indoor Athletic Building, with physical training credit given to participants.
