Campbell, Gill Fill Key Slots In '48 Board

Levin Hicks Campbell III of Short Hills, New Jersey, and Adams House, and Richard Thomas Gill of Long Branch, Now Jersey, and Kirkland House were elected secretary and treasurer of the Class of 1948 at yesterday's first meeting of the Permanent Class Committee.

Campbell and Gill, already members of the 12-member committee, were both picked by near-majority votes. Campbell ran fourth in last week's election of the committee.

The new secretary's first duties will be to draw up an address book of the class. When completed, the book will be kept constantly up-to-date to serve as a perpetual file. "Our aim is to make '48 the best-informed class Harvard over had," Ray A. Goldberg '48, first marshal, stated.

The three marshals expressed the hope that the secretary and treasurer would remain in office for life, although there may be periodical elections at the class reunions.

At the meeting, the Permanent Class Committee also voted to draw up the 1948 constitution next term as soon as the Student Council acts on the recent class affairs report. In addition, voluntary dues will probably be collected from the class at the end of the spring term, the three marshals disclosed.
