Russian Press Hits Marshall's U.N. Proposals

Pravda assailed General, Marshall for creating a "diplomatic war" in the U. N. arena, and joined with the Russian press yesterday in blasting U. S. foreign policy in line with last week's speech by Andrel Y. Vishinsky before the U.N. General Assembly.

A second tropical storm rising south of Miami threatened to sweep across Florida according to the weather bureau last night, as reports--still incomplete--poured into New Orleans of widespread havoc caused along the Gulf Coast by last week's hurricane.

"A grim food year" was forecast by Herbert Hoover last night in a speech given in New York. His report stated that the world food situation "has become even more distressing" than in the past years.

The people of New York paid final tribute to the memory of Fiorellow H. LaGuardia yesterday when thousands filed past his body in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
