President Conant left last night by train for an extended vacation and speaking tour that will take him through the Canadian Rockies, down the West Coast and part way back through the far western states before he returns to Cambridge for the opening of the fall term in September.
He will spend most of August vacationing in the Canadian Rockies, appearing in Vancouver, B. C. August 30 for a speaking engagement. He will then talk to Harvard Clubs and other groups in Seattle, Spokane, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, finally arriving in Omaha September 17th.
President Conant will leave Omaha to be in Cambridge September 19, the last day of registration for the incoming freshman class.
Earlier in the year, he made a trip through the South and Southwest, visiting schools in the area and talking before Harvard clubs and civic organizations. Shortly before Commencement, President Conant visited several mid-western states in connection with the Associated Harvard Clubs meeting in Milwaukee.
