Crimson Dinghy Fleet Takes Charles Crown

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Crimson's dinghy branch of its Charles River fleet last Sunday got out from under the thumb of the M. I. T. boatsmen when they stopped the Techmen's Fowle Trophy regatta streak at five wins and captured their first major dinghy victory since the spring of 1944.

Led by Tom Day, who won individual honors in the first division with 114 points, the Crimson topped a field of 13 colleges in acquiring the Leonard Munn Fowle Trophy. The 100 points of Ralph Foster and Pete Putnam in the second division gave Harvard the regatta's top total of 214.

The Foster-Putnam combination actually placed second to a George Washington tandem.
