Summer activities of the AVC got underway with a meeting of the executive committee yesterday at which time plans for the first general membership meeting on July 9 were mapped out. These will include social events as well as several lectures by outstanding speakers.
In an appeal to liberal minded veterans of the University, Stanley Karson '48, president of the Harvard chapter, urged all to join in the fight "to achieve a more democratic and prosperous America and a more stable world." Karson stated that AVC is the only voice of the liberal veteran today.
The AVC book exchange, which enabled many veterans to purchase hard to get and expensive items, will reopen at the AVC office in Phillips Brooks House. There too, all veterans who have let their National Service Life Insurance lapse will find forms and information for re-instating before the August deadline.
