Walter D. Edmonds '26, an Overseer of the University, was awarded the honorary degree of doctor of literature by Colgate University at its commencement exercises Monday "for his service to us in helping to extend our lives from the narrow present to a participation in the stress and glory of the past."
A resident of Cambridge, Edmonds is an author of historical novels and more recently he has turned to the field of history proper. His novels and short stories have dealt primarily with the pioneers of upstate New York.
