Deacons Form First Intramural Baseball Club for Summer Play

Taking the lead in organization for the coming summer intramural baseball competition Kirkland House has already partially formed a team and is eagerly searching throughout the College for additional material.

As many teams as can be formed will be absorbed into the proposed league, which will be split into a second circuit if there are a sufficient number, and Adolph Samborski, Director of Intramural Athletics, urges any man interested in forming or playing on such teams to contact him in his Indoor Athletic Building office before Monday.

Following the example of the major league teams, they will schedule series of two, or three, or more games in one week between rival clubs.

Since there are not enough men in most of the Houses this summer to organize regular House teams and leagues, House uniforms will more than likely be filled by more than one player from other Houses of the Yard. At present no restrictions are being put on the membership of the organizing ball clubs.

Bucky Harrison, the Deacon's mentor and manager, is at present pressing his search for diamond talent by inviting anyone interested in playing for the newly formed Kirkland team to contact him in Kirkland A-34.
