Alumni Choose 5 As New Overseers For 6-Year Term

Three manufacturing executives, a financier, and a Boston Physician were named by their fellow Alumni to the six-year posts of Overseers of the University, according to the annual election announcement delivered on Commencement day, June 5.

Five other Alumni, including the Chairman of the Executive Committee, Governor Robert F. Bradford '23, closed out their terms of office on the same day. A new chairman will be chosen at the June 30 meeting of the Board.

The new members of the 30-man Board are George Whitney '07, of New York, president of J. P. Morgan Co. Inc.; Dr. George P. Denny '09, of Boston, a physician; Clarence B. Randall '12, of Chicago, vice-President of the Inland Steel Co.; Robert E. Gross '19, of Los Angeles, president and chairman of the board of Lockheed Aircraft Corp.; and Amory Houghton '21, of Corning, N. Y. chairman of the board of Corning Glass Works.

Besides Bradford, the rething Overseers are Winthrop W. Aldrich '07, Arthur A. Ballantine '04, John W. Farley '99, and Robert E. Sherwood '13.
