Amalgamation of the '47 and '48 Albums was voted unanimously by both Class Committees yesterday afternoon, following early agreement or a merger and more than an hour of debate on the yearbook's composition.
The nod of approval came from the respective Class executives as the result of a proposal submitted jointly by the Album Committee chairmen, Richard A. Green '47 and J. Anthony Lewis '48, in behalf on their staffs.
Advantages listed in the proposal were directed at preventing duplication of sections and competition for advertising, since individual Albums would have been published on the same day, covering approximately the same period of College life. A combined Album, the editors declared, would allow expansion of sections common to both Classes.
Basic Stipulations
Weighing the merits of different methods of composing the joint yearbook, the Class Committees finally assented to the basic stipulations presented by the two Album Committees. As approved yesterday, the book will contain both Classes under one cover, with autonomy to be retained only in separate Senior sections--student pictures and biographies.
The Class Committees' vote gave a green light to the new Album's co-chairmen to work on phases of the book, which were held up pending action on the proposal.
