To the Editors of the Crimson:

In your editorial of April 24, you have as usual grossly misrepresented the question of Russia and Communism.

As you say, we may well have another war within the next decade or two. But the Truman Doctrine will not cause it. There can be two causes of war with Russia. One is your blissful lack of concern about the advance of Russian Communism. The other is a rising of reactionary sentiment throughout the country which has already begun.

If anything will prevent war with Russia, it is the Truman Doctrine. But if war does come, it will be the work of you radicals Who never get at the root of anything. R. Bruce Friedman '50
