Confirming the decision of a special screening board, the Student Council yesterday afternoon named Charles R. Conklin '48, Francis D. Fisher '47, and Selig S. Harrison '48 to represent the College here tomorrow in the Massachusetts regional conference of the National Students Organization, and at the NSO constitutional convention, this summer in Madison, Wisconsin.
Supporting Cast
Three alternate delegates were also selected at the Council meeting to act as non-voting participants. Frederick D. Houghteling '50, William J. Richard '49, and Edric A. Weld, Jr. '46 will support the regular representatives in the details of committee work.
Delegates from all over the nation will gather at the Badger campus on August 30 to draw up the by-laws of the student group that had its beginnings in the Chicago student conference last summer.
"The Student Council will instruct our representatives in broad, general terms as to the nature of the policy they should follow," Council President Richard G. Axt '46, said last night, "but we welcome any suggestions from interested College groups."
Graduates Also to Attend
Graduate students will also have a voice in the Madison conference proceedings, although representatives have not yet been chosen. Urging prospective delegates to file applications with the chairman of their International Students' Committee, the Graduate Advisory Council said last night that the nomination of its two representatives would be completed by the end of the term.
