Boston's fund-raising drive for a new Children's Medical Center, backed by Charles Francis Adams '88 and other leading citizens of the Hub, will enlist the aid of the University Band Sunday afternoon, in a publicity rally located at the Hatch Memorial Shell.
Featuring the Band and the well-known amateur choir from the Perkins Institute for the Blind, the free concert is the first of a series of three benefit appearances planned by the local music-makers for the coming two weeks.
Performances at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford and the Cushing General Hospital in Framingham will round out the Band's good-will activities for the term. The Bedford Concert is slated for May 7, Hospital Day in that community, while the afternoon of entertainment for hospitalized veterans in Framingham will take place on May 12.
