In its last dual match of the season, the Varsity golf team lost by a nose to the Blue yesterday at Winchester, 5 to 4, to give the Crimson a season's record of seven wins and two defeats.
After the match, Samuel L. Savidge '46 of Eliot House and Seattle was elected captain for next season, and Walter L. Wilcox '45 of Arlington was chosen honorary captain for the past campaign.
Coach Bill Barclay's statement that yesterday's encounter "couldn't have been closer" was made clear by the way the Crimson took the first four matches neatly. Only a couple of missed 18th hole putts prevented them from taking any one of the remaining events.
