Crimson Entries Bow In Tennis at Williams; '50 Plays Tech Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Disaster caught up with the Crimson representatives to the New England Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament at Williamstown yesterday. Bill Wightman and Ted Backe, after sweeping through their first two matches on Monday, were each eliminated in the third round and quarter-finals respectively.

Backe paired up with Charlie Pratt to reach the quarter final round of the doubles before the Williams team came to plague them again, winning two sets out of three.

While Jack Barnaby's Varsity enjoys an open date on its schedule because of the Intercollegiate Championships, Corey Winn and his Freshman squad will journey downstream this afternoon to tackle the M.I.T. 50's. The Crimson yearlings are undefeated as yet in official combat, while the Tech aggregation is not too highly thought of and should be easy pickings for the Freshmen's fourth win.

The Lineup: Hughes (cap't), Nicholl, Frey, Kaynes, Deane, Preston, Zinsser, and Cohodes.
