Harvard Still On Track To Reach Fossil Fuel-Neutral Status by 2026, Sustainability Report Finds
For the second time in six days, the Boston College baseball team proved yesterday that it was four runs better than the Varsity nine, downing the Crimson, 8 to 4, at Soldiers Field.
It was a virtual replay of last Thursday's contest at Chestnut Hill, with the Eagles soaring to an early lead and surviving a late-inning Crimson threat to pull away for their triumph. Dan O'Brien gained his second win over the Varsity, limiting Dolph Samborski's forces to four hits. Brendon Reilly started for Harvard, and lasted until the ninth inning, when Ira Godin subdued B.C., effectively.
The Crimson will travel to New York today for a return Ivy League game with Columbia, which was 13 to 6 victim at Soldiers Field last week. Godin or Jack Wallace will start for the Varsity.
Yesterday's Varsity summary: *Field out for Godin in ninth. Errors-Lunder, Mariaschin 2, Coppinger, Hamlen. Runs batted in-Mariaschin, Coppinger, Hamlen. Two-base hit-Coulson. Bases on balls-off Reilly 6, off Godin 1. Left on bases-Harvard 7. Double plays-Coulson, Fitz, and Coppinger; Coppinger and Fitz. Wild pitch-Reilly. Hits-off Reilly, 9 in 8 (none out in 9th); off Godin, 0 in 1.
