The Varsity baseball team, scheduled to depart Friday night on the long journey to Ithaca for an Ivy League game with Cornell Saturday afternoon, never left home. After telegraphic communication revealed that playing conditions were sloppy in Ithaca. the contest was postponed because of wet grounds, and Coach Adolph Samborski's 17-man squad eschewed the railroad trip.
A busy week lies ahead for the Crimson nine, with four games slated, three at home. Boston Colleges will come to Soldiers Field tomorrow afternoon, and the team will meet Columbia at New York on Wednesday. Weekend competition includes engagements here with Brown on Friday, and with Dartmouth on Saturday. Both the Lions and the Big Green are Ivy League rivals.
