Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
Election day for next year's Junior and Senior Class representatives to the Student Council has been moved up to Wednesday for the Houses, Jerome Preston, Jr. '44, chairman of the Council's election committee, announced last night. Freshman elections in the Union have also been advanced to Wednesday.
Dudley Hall balloting will begin tomorrow as originally scheduled, Preston said, but an extra day of voting has been added to insure an adequate commuter response.
At the same time Preston released the names of seven new candidates, added as a result of supplementary selections by the nominating committee and petitions from the student body. John N. Dakis '48, John Munroe, Jr. '46, and Geoffrey W. White '48 were included on the Senior slate. New Junior nominees are J. Morton Dunn '48, Thomas J. Hyde '49, John K. Lally '49, and Gunther K. Rosinus '49.
Biographies of these candidates and other nominees will appear in the CRIMSON Wednesday, Preston announced, urging all those who had not yet submitted biographical material to turn it in at the Phillips Brooks House Council office immediately.
The open meeting of Freshmen scheduled for last Friday has been moved up to tomorrow night at 7 o'clock in the Union common room, Edric A. Weld, Jr. '46 of the Council said last night. All Freshmen voters are invited to hear the candidates discuss their platforms.
