Hawaiian Boxers Visit College After Vying In AAU Tournament

Eight Hawaiian boxers, competitors in the recent National A.A.U. Tournament, will see the University at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The islanders will be met by David M. Little '18, Secretary to the Corporation, in the receiving room of Massachusetts Hall.

Arranged by alumnus Jack Desha '12, manager of the team, the afternoon's sight-seeing will be highlighted by a tour of the University's libraries, museums and other points of interest. The visit comes at the end of the Hawaiians' Boston stay.

A resident of Honolulu and a public prosecutor there manager Desha's "warm feeling" for his alma mater prompted him to arrange the tour. Although Hawaiian participation in the National A.A.U. Tournament is not an innovation, the Cambridge visit is.

The team, with no boxers in heavier than the lightweight class, upheld Hawaii's fighting tradition stressing speed and fast hitting, to place five men in the semi-finals. Though three made the finals, none managed to win a title.
