College Campaign Encouraging, Says Campbell, but Outside Gifts Necessary for Success

"The drive in the College is going wonderfully," said Richard D. Campbell, Jr. '48, chairman for European Student Relief last night, after totalling up the day's returns in his room in Adams House.

Success of the campaign, however, according to manger Michael B. Rothenberg '49, rests with the faculty and a graduate students. "Returns are just starting to come in by mail from these sources," said Rothenberg, "and they will have to take an upsurge in the near future to put the drive over the top."

"It would help us out a lot if those who wish to contribute would leave checks with their roommates, or on their mantles," said Robinson. "Over 80 percent of the men we have seen wanted to give, and we feel certain that many more whom we haven't been able to reach would like to make a contribution."

Total receipts for the food fund added up to $13,098.50 late last night, pushing the drive past the half-way mark on the way to its goal of $25,000.
