Bunny 45-29 Win Holds Hoop Lead While Lowell Takes Seventh Straight

Bellboy Quintet Downs Dudley 58-35 to Stay Runner-Up; Funsters, Elephants Victors

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Lowell's Bellboy quintet rang up its seventh straight inter-House victory yesterday afternoon, drubbing Dudley 58 to 35 to maintain a threatening position in the league race. The evening's activity saw league-leading Leverett avert a slip to second place by turning back a determined Winthrop five, 45 to 29.

Fred Donahoe sparked the Lowell attack with 25 points, while he and Mike Post spiked Dudley's guns with their control of the backboards. The two teams combined their efforts to establish an unofficial record in foul production, seven being called in 11 seconds of playing time.

The Leverett-Winthrop contest broke wide open in the second half as Norm Cameron and Dick Warren paced a 31-point drive for the fast-breaking Bunnies.

Dunster Triumphs

Back in form after a midseason slump, Dunster continued its winning ways yesterday afternoon with a 51 to 30 decision over Adams, thus replacing Dudley in the third place slot. Dunster's "Mutt and Jeff" combination proved invincible, six-foot-four-inch John Brunsman caging 15 points while diminutive George Okamura stole the ball time and time again in the Gold Coasters' back court and contributed four baskets on fast breaks. Wheelright aided a losing cause with his 17-point effort.

Eliot trounced Kirkland's faltering five 41 to 22 to complete the evening's activity.
