Sir Alexander Cadogan, British delegate to the United Security Council, will speak under the auspices of the University U. N. Council on the evening of Wednesday, April 23, in New Lecture Hall.

Before his address, Cadogan will attend a dinner in his honor at the Faculty Club given by the U. N. Council's executive board and its Faculty sponsors.

Though Cadagon has not yet announced the subject of his talk, the Council has declared that Cadogan will probably discuss "the state of the world, the United Nations, and Great Britain's relation to both."

Served in Churchill Cabinet

Cadogan has had a long diplomatic career. He attended the San Francisco conference and has been chief representative of the United Kingdom to the U. N. since the formal inception of the world organization. Before his appointment to the U. N. post, he had served as under-Secretary to the Minister of State in the Churchill cabinet.

William Y. Elliott, professor of Government, and one of the Council's sponsors, will introduce Cadogan, the third United Nations figure brought to the University by the U. N. Council.

Jan Masaryk, Czechoslovakian Foreign Minister and head of that nation's delegation to the U. N. General Assembly, and V. K. Krishna Menon, Indian delegate to the same gathering, spoke at the University last term under the Council's sponsorship.
