Receipts stood at the $20,535 mark late last night as the Food Relief Committee decided to appeal for a second time to 1515 faculty members who have as yet failed to respond to a mailed request dispatched early in the campaign.
In a letter to be posted today, the Committee wrote that 'we sent 1700 letters to members of he faculty and received 185 replies. Surely many more would have given if we had been able to go to them in person." The plea is named especially at those who "meant to give but forgot."
William S. Campbell '50, Solicitations Manager, again cited the high degree of success obtained by personal solicitation, disclosing that of 3200 men contacted in the College, 2400 have thus far contributed $1886.
