Columbia's fencers obtained an early 6 to 3 lead in foils Saturday at New York, and, in spite of last event attempts by the Crimson Varsity, kept a slight edge to come through for a 14 to 13 victory.
Going into the epee, which proved to be the decisive event, with the 6 to 3 score against them, the Varsity tightened up, but not quits enough and went into the saber bouts with the chips stacked, 11 to 7, in favor of the Lions.
