Crimson Favored Over Husky Five In Game Tonight

--But Mentor Barclay Cautions Against Overconfidence After Tuesday's Victory Over B.C.

By Stephen N. Cady

In a game they won weeks ago on paper, coach Bill Barclay's rejuvenated hoopmen will return to the Indoor Athletic Building tonight against Northeastern after nearly a month's absence. Tap-off time is 8:45 o'clock.

Openly enthusiastic over the way the Crimson pummelled Boston College in the Garden last Tuesday, coach Barclay at the same time cautions against over-confidence in tonight's contest. On the basis of records against two common opponents, Tufts and M.I.T., Harvard should trim Northeastern by 38 points. Muzzling the Huskies, though, won't be as soft as this comparison would indicate, according to the Crimson's hoop mentor. "If we want to, we can win, but if we start thinking about Princeton, we may be in for a tough night."

Rapid Husky Improvement

After dropping five of its first six games, Northeastern has been building itself up like a rolling snowball, in copping three in a row. The visitors' slick, six-feet three-inch forward, "Inga" Walsh, spearheads a fast-breaking attack which shifts into a man to man coverage on the defense. Backing up Walsh, coach Johnny Grinnell has four more competent lads, all over six feet.

Captain Saul Mariaschin will start again at forward for the Crimson, working with Hauptfuhrer or Page. Brady and either Gannon or Henry will be at the guard positions.

The probable lineups: HARVARD  NORTHEASTERN Mariaschin  rf  Phillips Hauptfuhrer  O  Rodenhizer Page  lf  Walsh Brady  lg  Magliozzi Gannon or Henry  rg  Watts
